Venue for 17th workshop
NATIONAL GEOPHYSICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE, HYDERABAD, INDIA.
Induction Workshop: (18 - 23 October, 2004)

The International Workshop on Electromagnetic (EM) Induction in the Earth is the premier venue for EM researchers around the world to exchange research results and new developments. EM measurements provide a unique view of the Earth because of the range of variations in electrical conductivity encountered in the Earth's sub-surface.

Welcome to India !

  • 5000 Years of civilisation
  • Assimilation of technology
  • Economic travel and living costs
  • Improved communications to global centres

India is well-connected by the global network of airlines. Mumbai and New Delhi are major international gateways. Hyderabad is connected to most cities in India and Singapore, Malayasia and Middle East.

Mumbai - The Gateway to India :

A major metropolis on the West Coast and financial capital of the country having a year-round mild climate, with temperatures around 30°c.

Hyderabad - 400 years of heritage :

A city situated on the Deccan Plateau at 500m elevation, with dry climate and mean temperatures around 25°c, reinventing itself as one of the IT centres of the country

The International Workshop on Electromagnetic (EM) Induction in the Earth is the premier venue for EM researchers around the world to exchange research results and new developments. The 17th EM induction workshop will be held at National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad - 500 007, A.P., India from October 18 through October 23, 2004. A map of NGRI campus is available. EM measurements provide a unique view of the Earth because of the sensitivity of electrical conductivity to temperature, fluids, ore minerals, and lithologic variations. This sensitivity is important in monitoring environmental problems, exploring for energy and mineral occurrences, investigating regions of potential natural hazards (seismic and volcanic), and studying the interior structure of the Earth and other planets. Technical sessions addressing these issues are the primary focus of the EM Workshop. Persons interested in contributing to the workshop as presenters or delegates are encouraged to attend.
